Commission Information

How to Order

  1. Submit a commission request form.
  2. Email me photographs of your pets at megan@pawreflections.com.
    • This is the most important step of the process as I work completely from the pictures you provide me with. I encourage you to send several photos of your pet that capture their unique personality. Photographs should be up close, well-lit, and well-defined. The better the photograph…the better the painting! If you are having multiple pets painted on one canvas, they do not need to be together in one picture. I can work with separate photos of each animal. Digital copies are preferred, but they can also be sent by traditional mail if necessary. In that case, the originals will be scanned and returned unaltered to you. If you live in the local area and do not have adequate pictures of your pet we can arrange a time for a personal photo shoot, email for more information.
  3. Submit Payment
    • After I recieve your request form and photographs, I will send you a confirmation email with your order total that will include tax (if applicable) and shipping costs. All paintings will be carefully packaged and insured. At this time I must recieve payment before beginning your custom work. You can pay through our online store using a credit card it will ask you to sign in with your google account. If you do not have one, it will prompt you to sign up for one for free. You can also pay with a credit card or Paypal through my Etsy store. In additon you can pay by cash, check, or money order.

Once you e-mail me pictures and submit a request form I will send you my initial design ideas. Upon approval and recieving payment, I will begin your painting and will send updates of your portrait through e-mail, which will allow you to request changes before I complete it.
Turn-around time is generally 4-6 weeks depending on my work load. I will inform you of your expected completion date in your confirmation e-mail. If you have a time constraint (i.e gift) portraits can be completed on deadline. I will try to accomadate you as much as possible.
All paintings are hand painted by artist Megan Newcomb with high-quality acrylic paints on 1-1/2” deep gallery-wrap canvas with all edges painted so they can be hung as-is (framing is not necessary). The paintings will also be coated with a clear, acrylic sealant to protect them.  Sizes and pricing can be found here.
